I was brought on to shoot and help shape a short proof-of-concept for a holiday musical feature. Working with Emmy Award-winning director/writer Bruce D. Johnson and Academy Award-nominated composer John Debney, the challenge was to create the feel of an international story within the realities of a local production and limited budget.

With only a few weeks of planning, we captured the entire piece in a single day across four locations. An Austrian theater, outdoor Christmas market and intimate stage space were all recreated locally in Burbank, allowing us to give the story an international scope without an international production.

The finished short creates the feeling of a global holiday adventure, combining our locally shot material with original footage captured in Salzburg, Austria. Featuring original songs and a score by John Debney, adapted from the stage play My Silent Night, the project is currently being used to help secure financing for the feature.
